Meet the Tutors
We are all highly experienced school teachers, academics and examiners and all teaching is given by us.
I teach Secondary English Literature and Language at GCSE and A-level. My BA Degree in English Literature and Film is from Sheffield Hallam University and I completed my PGCE in English and Drama at Cambridge University.
Having started my career in a comprehensive school in East London, I then moved abroad. I worked at an ESF school in Hong Kong and I was Head of Language at an International school in Portugal before moving back to London in 2019.
With 15 years experience, I have a detailed knowledge of many syllabi including; iGCSE, MYP, A-level and IB Diploma.
Since 2018, I have been an examiner for the IB Diploma English Literature and Language course. Also, I am an examiner for the AQA A-level Literature and GCSE Language & Literature courses.
I teach Mathematics and Physics at all secondary school levels and have taught Physics undergraduates at the University of Oxford and supervised post-graduate Financial Mathematics students from Imperial College London. Additionally, I am an assessment specialist for the Cambridge International Examination Board in both iGCSE Physics and A-Level Further Mathematics.
I have a doctorate in Atomic Physics from the University of Oxford and am a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications.
I particularly enjoy teaching students who are struggling with my subjects, as this is where I can make the most difference.
For over twenty years I worked as a mathematician for banks in London and Standard Chartered in Singapore and I've spent ten years researching and studying Physics at the Institut Laue-Langevin in Grenoble in France, the University of Oxford, the University of Warwick and the University of Cambridge.
I am a qualified Biology teacher at all secondary school levels. I have been teaching for over twenty years in state schools, independent schools, boarding schools and an international school in Madrid in Spain.
Biology is enjoyed by most, but students can be overwhelmed by the sheer volume of content to memorise and apply. I guide students so that they can revise more effectively and focus on using the specification to ensure learning is thorough.
I have been an examiner for the OCR A-level exam board for many years which gives me first-hand experience of exam structure and the complete exam assessment process.
I gained my Biomedical Science degree and Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) at the University of Birmingham.
I am a qualified Chemistry teacher at all secondary school levels and have been working in state and independent schools for eighteen years. I gained my Chemistry degree at the University of Nottingham and completed my PGCE at King's College London.
I enjoy helping young people navigate through secondary school - whether it’s explaining how to plan a revision timetable, showing examples of different revision techniques or how to answer a six mark question - I am here to give supportive advice.
My lessons are built around making students feel comfortable about answering a variety of questions and understanding that learning from mistakes is one of the best ways to improve.

Frequently asked Questions
What equipment will my child need?
At a minimum, your child will only need a Zoom account, a computer with a webcam and a good internet connection. However, in order to write easily, we strongly recommend that they also have a tablet and a stylus.
How much do you charge?
We charge £ 30, S$ 50 or HK$ 300 per hour. Payable in advance for four lessons.
Is homework set?
Yes. Homework will be set during most lessons. Homework is reviewed the following lesson. Students share their answers and mark-schemes are provided to enable students to improve their exam technique.
How will my child be assessed?
In addition to the homework, during lessons students are questioned individually to ascertain knowledge and understanding. At the end of each term, your child will be given a formal assessment consisting of questions specific to their exam board. Written feedback will be provided.
Do we offer 1-2-1 tuition?
Our small group tuition is designed to cater for the individual needs of your child and is the most cost effective option. However, we do have limited availability for 1-2-1 lessons.
